John Koerner & Sampson vom Haus Ledda SchH 2, FH 1 and 2

John Koerner has titled many dogs to schutzhund titles and has been involved in search and rescue for over 20 years. He is President of Peninsula Canine Corps, one of USCA's oldest schutzhund clubs. John and Sampson are with the County Search and Rescue team as well as California Rescue Dog Association.

Sampson, from a young age, was a natural for search and rescue work. Like his mother, V - Nicole vom Haus Ledda, SchH 3, FH2, CDX, TD, Sampson is totally self confident in his temperament, totally stable nerves, excellent offactory senses......and LOVES to work. BEFORE being certified for cadaver work and during training when Sampson was approximately one year old, he found a body. He was first certified for cadaver work many years ago, and was just recently recertified. Recertification is done yearly for each search and rescue category. Below are photos of John and Sampson......and more concerning their work in search and rescue.

Sampson has been certified by the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA):

  • Wilderness Air Scenting
  • Trailing
  • Cadaver
  • Water Searching for Drowned Victims
  • Basic Urban Disaster Dog

Sampson has been on over 100 Search missions for missing persons.
